A Fundamental Business Lesson from the New Orleans Saints

Hope your coffee is hot, this should take you about 1 minute and 53 seconds to read (According to Forbes, the average adult reads 300 words per minute)

As Homer Simpson would say: DOH!

This player had ONE job…

This post was inspired by something Justin Brooke posted yesterday, and the New Orleans Saints.

If you saw the game yesterday, you saw an ending you might not ever see again.

All the Saints had to do was TACKLE the guy,.

There was no time on the clock, and the game would have been over, IF he tackled him.

That’s it.

Here is a shot of his attempted tackle…

The fundamentals of football are: blocking & tackling.

That is what is taught when you first get started in pee-wee football.

The New Orleans safety was going for a big hit, to be featured on ESPN highlights, a viral video, social media, etc.

Unfortunately, this is quite common nowadays with NFL players.

If this guy did what he was taught when he was 9-years old, the Saints would be playing for the Super Bowl this Sunday.

Marketing comes down to the fundamentals…

MARKET — Who is your ideal target market? Specificity wins here

MESSAGE — Once you know your market, you can now craft a compelling & meaningful message for them.

MEDIA — Where are you going to deliver your message?

Those are the “blocking & tackling” of effective and profitable marketing, online or offline.

Master those, and you’ll be ahead of 98.3% of your market, if not more.

That’s the presmie of the Dadprenuer Freedom program, these three Ms, along with two other critical pieces, also Ms…

MINDSET — The foundation for everything.

This business is 90% mental and 10% strategy/tactics. I am convinced life is the same way.

You’ll learn how to master your mind and silence the self doubt.

MACHINE — How to build a machine to deliver you red hit leads around the clock, 24/7/365.

Ready to master my M5 framework, click the link below to get started…

I go much deeper in this, in the Dadprenuer Freedom guide that you can download below by clicking the red button…

Success Comes Down to ONE Word

Hope your coffee is hot, this should take you about 1 minute and 25 seconds to read (According to Forbes, the average adult reads 300 words per minute)

Much like Alanis Morissette once said…

Isn’t it ironic

Or what I say far too often — Do as I say, not as I do.

I didn’t publish a bog post yesterday, and I am trying to be consistent with daily hilariousness on this blog.

I imagine you look like this while reading these blog posts…

Minus the face tattoo.

Unless, you’re into that sort of thing.

And who am I to judge?

This is what it takes.

I have told you about my love for the book The Slight Edge, and how it is my absolute favorite book.

Turning simple disciplines into massive success.

And I think you can summarize that down to ONE single word.

That is what it takes.

The successful people are not cut from a different cloth from you & I.

Most do not have advantages over any of us.

They have 24 hours, just like you & I do.

The one thing they have done, is they have mastered consistency.

We are weeks away from 2018, but you can get started today.

Write out a 90 day plan.

Write out what you want to accomplish in the 4 areas of your life; mind, health, relationships & wealth.

And then reverse engineer each of them

  1. What do you need to do daily to master your mind?
  2. What do you need to do daily to take control of your health?
  3. What do you need to do daily to have a thriving relationship with your wife/partner & kids?
  4. What do you need to do daily for your busienss to propel your busienss forward?

I print out a weekly action plan every week, and score myself. This has helped me tremendously.

You cannot improve what you do not measure.

Focus on winning the day.

Don’t worry much about next week or next month.

Just like eating an elephant — one bite at a time.

I love that phrase, but who the Hell eats an elephant? Is that a delicacy somewhere? Do you put ketchup on it? You put it on a bun? Does it go well with wine?

There are things I need to know!

Sorry…Got off track there for a bit.

If you want help with the above, and a whole lot mo’, check out the Dadpreneur Freedom program at the link below;

You got this!

As always, if you have any questions, I am here to help.

Are You an Entrepreneur or an Opportunity Seeker?

Hope your coffee is hot, this should take you about 2 minutes and 41 seconds to read (According to Forbes, the average adult reads 300 words per minute)

You might never read a blog post  from me again, after reading this one.

Just a fair warning….

This blog post has to do with Bit Coin.

Just what you wanted to read about right?

As if all the experts in your newsfeed wasn’t enough.

No, I am not going to tell you to mortgage your home to invest today. I actually saw an article today of people doing this.

And no, I am not some Bit Coin expert who started trading last Thursday and have a course to sell.

None of that here.

I just want to share my opinion of the 93.8% of Bit Coin experts who suddenly popped up in the last 60 days.

Let me start with a little back story…

I got started in online marketing in 2010. It feels like a lifetime ago.

I started selling digital marketing services, all of them.

To any business owner who’d listen to me.

I didn’t know what a target market was. Back then, “small business owners” was my target market.

Makes me laugh now. And shake my head.

And it all makes sense why it was such a struggle.

After about 18 months, I niched down and started offering mobile websites to attorneys.

One service, one niche.

Success followed.

18 months or so later, I changed paths as I was sick of working with attorneys.

I then started offering Facebook ad management to real estate agents.

One service, one niche.

Success followed.

After about 16 months, I was sick of client work and started dabbling in Amazon, as that was the hot thing on the market.

About 4-5 months later, I was not having the instant success the courses I bought promised me.

I then tried my hand at Shopify, and did quite well.

Did that for 14 months.

Launched 4 stores, and 3 of them bombed. The jewelry store, which was successful, generated just over $270k in about a year.

I was “successful”.

However, I was not too happy. It wasn’t what the big Man upstairs put me on the Earth to do.

I ended up closing the store, and changing direction once again.

Do you see the pattern?

Maybe you can relate to it?

This sums up a far majority of the online marketer’s journeys.

The 6 Minute & 39 Second Formula to
More Cashflow While Working Less  Get the Dadpreneur Freedom Guide!

Over the years, I never considered myself an entrepreneur. Just a little over a year ago, another marketer brought up the idea of opportunity seeker vs. entrepreneur.

That’s it!

All those years, I wasn’t an entreprenuer, I was an opportunity seeker. I chased the bright shiny object jumping from one biz idea to another.

And every time you jump from one opportunity to the next, you’re basically shooting yourself in the foot, as you’re constantly starting over. Ruining just about any momentum you’ve created.

Most of these people are not fulfilled, so they jump from idea to idea seeking more/easy mon-ey, as they think that is what they are after.

I get it, because that was me for YEARS.

That’s what I am seeing with all these Bit Coin experts lately. There are some guys I follow who are getting into Bit Coin, but they are doing it for investment purposes, not a business opportunity.

There will be something else in 6-8 months and the masses will chase that hot trend like a little kid running after the ice cream man with a wadded up dollar in his hand screaming, Wait for me!!

An entrepreneur, in my opinion, is set out to solve a problem in the world.

They are ruthlessly committed to their mission.

They are focused on serving their community as best they can.

They understand things do not go as planned, and will not jump ship, at the first sign of struggle.

They are committed to playing the long game.

They are not in it for the money, but it to transform lives.

They are in to to make a dent in the universe, as Steve Jobs would say.

I am reminded by one of my all-time favorite Gary V quotes in this…

That is what the Dadpreneur Freedom project is all about.

It’s about helping Dadprenuers build a busienss they can be proud of, work with kick-ass people, and leave a lasting legacy behind doing what they love.

It’s about helping Dadprenuers avoid the mountain of mistakes I’ve made in the last 7 years.

This is work I am truly proud of.

This is my mission that I am committed to.

You can find out more about the program here

So, are you an entrepreneur or an opportunity seeker?

There is no right or wrong, but it’s best if you know the difference.

A Common Trait Found Among Winners

Have you ever tried to take a family picture with a 2 & 4 year old?

It’s like herding cats.

Yesterday, we all got dressed up and planned to go see Santa, but the kids were a bit tired.

Seeing Santa is no easy task, and when you add tired to the mix…

Well, lets just say I’d rather dig my eyeballs out with spoons.

So instead of doing nothing, Amanda wanted to get some pics by our Christmas tree.

I thought…

Who’s going to take the picture?

Amanda said, “grab the ladder”

I set the ladder up, moved the couch and we grabbed Amanda’s camera.

The one I got her for Christmas 2 years ago, and she has used like 3 times.

Not bitter.

Not at all.

Here was the best shot, out of about 17 takes….

We did the best with what we had.

And that is a damn important lesson in the world of entrepreneurship.

I thanked Amanda and told her what an awesome idea that was.

She replied with, “I’m resourceful”

And that is what is takes to win an an entrepreneur.

Here is the definition of resourceful:

Having the ability to find quick and clever ways to overcome difficulties.

“I don’t have money”

This is probably the most common myth bullshit lie people tell themselves for not being successful.

We live in such exciting times, that you do not need money to start most online businesses.

We should all be extremely grateful for the opportunity that is in front of all of us.

Does money help?

Of course!

Iit can certainly speed up the process, but it’s not a requirement.

If you’re bootstrapping it, it’s going to take you putting in the work day in and day out.

You must be 100% focused.

You must be ruthlessly committed to it.

You must be consistent.

And honestly, those 3 things, you need those whether you have money in the bank or you’re flat broke.

In October of 2010, I got started with less than $50. I bought a domain, and $30 in upsells (that I never used) from Go Daddy for a domain name.

I self taught myself web design by watching hundreds of YouTube videos.

I then cold called 5,000 Las Vegas businesses selling websites.

After 6 weeks, I made 2 sales.

$300 each.

It absolutely SUCKED!

Taught me so much about myself and busienss.

When I launched my Shopify store in June of 2015, I started with $5 per day with Facebook advertising.

$5/day, then $7, then $9, then $13, then $18, then $20, then $27 and on and on and on….

In 6 months time, I was spending $1,000 per DAY on Facebook — absolutely mind-blowing to me.

The 6 Minute & 39 Second Formula to
More Cashflow While Working Less  Get the Dadpreneur Freedom Guide!

“I don’t have time”

Another common bullshit excuse people tell themselves.

I got started when I was single, with no job, so I used that to my advantage. People with kids have much less spare time, I understand that now.

You find the time, and put that time into your business.

You wake up 30 minutes earlier and work on your busienss.

You stay up an 15 minutes later and work on your business.

You quit watching TV, and put that time into your business.

You quit surfing the web, and put the time into your business.

You set your phone down, and put that time into your business.

Just about anyone can find 60 minutes in their day.

You need to be very efficient, but it’s absolutely possible.

You have to be resourceful.

You have to find a way.

Whatever it takes, until it takes.

Admittedly, I have made excuses over the years. I ain’t perfect, and still make them. I’ve got a lot better, but still lie to myself.

Understand it’s not going to happen overnight.

Over the last 7+ years, I have learned quite a bit.

And I tried my absolute best to jam pack all the wisdom learned into a course, which I call Dadprenuer Freedom.

This program will save you time AND money — two things money complain about.

This is your shortcut.

Don’t get me wrong, this does involve work.

There will be days where you want to burn it all to the ground.

And you have to push though those days.

In module one, I discuss the importance of mastering your mind.

It’s a daily discipline.

$100 for a Book? Money Well Spent

I have another confession…

Shocking, I know…

No, it’s not about the time my girlfriend dumped me in 6th grade by sliding a note in my locker and I sobbed uncontrollably like a baby…for days weeks.

Not bitter at all, I am over it.

*wipes away tears*

Enough about my time at Maltby Middle School in 1993.

I am absolutely obsessed with personal development. The constant improvement of myself.

It started when I read The Miracle Morning, 3 years ago this month.

That booked changed my life. It opened up my eyes (and brain) to the importance of working on one’s self — every. damn. day.

If you have not read it, I highly recommend it.

So last week, I told Amanda I bought a new book. Nothing new, as I try to read 2 books per month.

It was the fact that I told her it cost $100, that got her attention.

She looked at me as if I has a third eye, and tentacles sticking out of my head.

As if I was from another planet.

At times, I am just flat out weird (I see you nodding your head 😆), and I do get the look often.

Finally, after 36 years, I am learning to embrace the weirdness.

This morning in the gym, I was listening to the audio version of the book.

And the author shared one idea, that instantly made the book worth it — 10x over.

All it takes is one gold nugget from a book, a video, an email, a FB post, a conversation, really anything, can drastically change your life.

Of course, if you implement it.

And the idea is “brain dead” simple, and I’ve heard it before.

However, this time it was different.

I paid for it.

I made the investment.

Most do not value fre-e.

Myself included.

I will most likely listen to the book multiple times, and will read it with a highlighter in hand, once it arrives at Chateau de Dukes.

And the lesson he shared?

The 6 Minute & 39 Second Formula to
More Cashflow While Working Less  Get the Dadpreneur Freedom Guide!

You might laugh, but here it is…

Plan one family outing each & every week.

That’s it.

Nothing earth shattering, but something I WILL be implementing immediately.

Building a million dollar business means absolutely nothing, if you neglect your family or your health or yourself.

It’s quite common for men to put all (or a far majority) of their focus on their business.

In Dadprener Freedom, it’s all about designing a business around your life — not the other way around.

It’s not about hustling & grinding your face off while your family wonders why you’re never around or constantly stressed out.

Your Cheat Code to Dominating Online

How well do you know your market?

This better not be the face you’re making right now..

This is something that I didn’t put much effort into when I got started 7 years ago.

Knowing my market?

All business owners know I have what they need.

That’s what I assumed.

And what a damn mistake that was.

And I get it….

I have to do research, Adam?

That sounds so boring.

And it sounds like work.

And it can be boring, when your market is not something you’re too crazy about. Another big reason I am so big on doing something you enjoy.

Working with people who light you up.

People who inspire you.

That’s why I closed down a successful Shopify store, and started working with Dadpreneurs.

Ah, hello!

I is a Dadpreneur!

I know what us Dadpreneurs want, struggle with, keep us up at night, scare us, makes us furious, what humiliates us, what we dream about, and on and on.

You could call that a cheat code.

The 6 Minute & 39 Second Formula to
More Cashflow While Working Less  Get the Dadpreneur Freedom Guide!

It’s why I ask questions in these emails.

It’s why I ask questions in our Dadpreneur group.

This is my way of research, and it’s quite fun. Also, very telling.

Knowing your market is never “complete” or “finished”, as your market’s needs, dreams & desires change.

Here are a few excellent resources where you can uncover the problems your market is facing…

  • Reddit
  • Quora
  • Amazon book reviews
  • FB groups
  • Forums

People love to complain online, and you can use this to your advantage.

FB groups are probably my favorite place to spy and see what these Dadprenuers are struggling with.

And 7 years in this business, I know the struggles.

Shit, I faced damn near every one of them.

Sometimes 63 times, or so it seems.

We go deeper into this important topic in Dadpreneur Freedom, and if you’re interested in the cheat code, click on the link below…

How the New England Patriots Can Help You Battle Complacency

It ain’t no secret…

I am a HUGE fan of Thomas Edward Patrick Brady.

And there is a big lesson that the 2007 New England Patriots can teach us.

That was the year he was tossin’ the pigskin to Randy Moss.

Moss caught 23 TD passes, an NFL record.

Brady threw 50 TD passes, an NFL record.

They set the single season record for most points in a season.

So what does this have to do with business?

Something I have battled for years in complacency.

It’s a dangerous place to be.

This past weekend, I was reminded of it once again.

A guy in our Dadpreneur FB group started his own Dadpreneur Facebook group.

At first, I was upset, angry. I was a bit jealous.

He posted about it in a large marketing group and got quite a few members from that post. Something I could have done, but never did.

Yesterday, I came to my senses, and it lit a fire under my ass.

I realized I have been playing small.

Admittedly, I’ve been lazy.

The 6 Minute & 39 Second Formula to
More Cashflow While Working Less  Get the Dadpreneur Freedom Guide!

I am no longer upset, but am now fired up. I am using this to my advantage.

Again, this is something we all battle.

You cannot get too complacent as there is competition out there.

Like Mark Cuban once said….

Work like there is someone working 24 hours a day to take it away from you.

It’s so damn true.

Don’t get complacent.

It’s a damn trap, that I don’t want you to fall in.

Learn from my mistakes.

Speaking of learning from my mistakes.

Dadpreneur Freedom is now live, and it’s 7+ years of my experience jam packed into a training program.

You can AVOID the truckload of mistakes I made.

The program is designed to help you make a bigger impact, while working less.

So far, I have helped 2 guys quit their jobs, and that is an absolutely amazing feeling.

40% of Your Marketing Success Will be Determined by ________

Have you heard of the 40/40/20 rule?

No, not the 40/40 Club, that club that Jay-Z owns.

Annie, my sister, used to work at the one out here in Vegas back in 2007. She didn’t last long, I think a month or so.

It was so damn shady, and they ended up closing their doors 8 months after they opened.

She ended up taking the initial test to get hired after a night out drinking. She went down there, took the test and passed.

Unfortunately, she failed another test.

On her way back to our apartment, she got pulled over, about 500 feet from the complex and got a DUI. And went to jail.

That is another story for another email.

How to Attract Profitable Prospects
Without ‘Hustling & Grinding’ Your Face Off  Get the Dadpreneur Freedom Guide!

The 40/40/20 rule is….

Audience — 40% of your marketing success will be determined by your audience/list. You need to be offering the right product or service, to the right people.

As a 36-year old male, I am not too interested in buying a bra from Victoria’s Secret — even if it is 85% off.

Offer — 40% of your marketing success comes down to your offer. Give them a reason to buy. Make them feel special.

This is what I refer to as a Godfather-like offer, one they simply cannot refuse. A lot of the offers I see online are quite boring, and all look very similar to each other.

Creative — The creative look and feel of your marketing will only account for 20% of your success.

You want it to look nice, but the right offer on a bar napkin, to the right person, can work.

In tomorrow’s email I am going to share with you a Godfather offer I just recently put out.

I told Amanda about it last night, and she looked at me like I had just landed a spaceship in the driveway.

It’s an offer with an absolutely absurd guarantee.

And it might backfire, but I doubt it.

Sometimes it’s about taking risks, and putting yourself out there.

And having unshakable confidence in yourself.

Be on the lookout for tomorrow’s email.

A Money Making Sales Tip from the World’s Most Feared Negotiator

Yesterday we took the kids to Ikea…

On the left, Ashton pretending to write emails like Daddy, and Ava, on the right, testing out a bed…

Surprisingly, they absolutely loved it.

They ran around, jumped on every bed & laid on every couch.

We didn’t buy anything yesterday, but got plenty of ideas.

Although, cut the trip short as Daddy was losing his patience 🙂

Jim Camp, was the World’s most fear negotiator. Fellow marketer Ben Settle, turned me onto Mr. Camp.

In an interview recorded in ’07, Camp said, “Vision drives decision”

We went to Ikea to create the vision of what we want, get an idea of costs, colors and things like that.

You can use this in your busienss, too.

Your prospects don’t care much about stats and figures.

You need to paint a picture for them.

You want to crease a vision for them.

You need to simplify it for them.

How to Attract Profitable Prospects
Without ‘Hustling & Grinding’ Your Face Off  Get the Dadpreneur Freedom Guide!

Here is what I share when I am explaining the power of marketing automation & email to busienss owners, who are not too familiar with how this all works….

Imagine having your own sales force, working for you ’round the clock — 24/7/365.

This team of sales assassins, can communicate with the most qualified people about your product or service.

Here’s the kicker, this team of assassins…

  • Will never call in sick
  • Will not ask to take a vacation
  • Will never show up late
  • Will not cost you a penny
  • Will never go work for your competition
  • Will not ask for benefits
  • Will ALWAYS present the perfect pitch, without fail

And this sales force will NEVER flirt with Debbie in accounting!

This is just a glimpse into the power of what an automated sales system can do for your busienss.

A bit more powerful than selling a marketing funnel and/or email marketing, don’t ya think?

I have created a “vision” for them, and explain it in terms a 9-year old could understand.

How can you create a vision for your prospects?

As Russell Brunson would say, you want to eliminate “techno babble” from yuor marketing, as your prospects will not understand that.

Dumb it.

Sell the outcome.

Create a vision.

Cash more checks.

Cut me in on some on the action?
